Blessed “Hope” Galan keeps her expenses posted on a board in her home in the Philippines. The HireSmart virtual employee is always mindful of the household numbers.

“He is so sweet; he is everything to me,” said Hope. “He is my motivation for why I do everything.”

“I felt so overwhelmed by the award,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting that one.” 

 

Hope works with the client’s attorney to reconcile delinquent accounts. 

 

“There are a lot of tasks, but I really enjoy it,” she said. “Most of what I am doing here is reconciling the account. I am also the one matching the status reports from the attorney and the status reports from us and checking to see if there is an issue.” 

 

Hope’s client is pleased with her work, saying she is “always willing to work together to accomplish what is needed,” “has no issue reaching out when needed,” and is “always on teams and responds quickly.” 

 

Hope said she takes time to be mindful of her duties before signing in each shift. 

 

“I compose myself every time I log in; I prepare for 30 to 45 minutes,” she said. 

 

“Before I log in, I prepare all the tools. I log in on time and say ‘Good morning’ to them 10 minutes before my shift starts.”

She advises other VEs to be mindful of their clients’ needs. 

 

“I am always providing the best of me that I can for my client,” she said. “And another important thing is that you always make yourself focus on your job.” 

 

Hope, who has worked with HireSmart since 2022, said her employment with the agency has had a “really big impact on my life.” 

 

She previously worked directly with a U.S. client who suddenly went out of business. 

 

“He just messaged me that he can no longer continue to work with me because he needs to foreclose,” she said. “So it’s like there’s really no assurance or security on your part (when freelancing) because when the client decides to stop, you have nothing.” 

 

Hope said she sees great value in being with an agency and not alone.
